Texas Tech softball player Taylor Pannell got into a verbal altercation with her former team at the Women’s College World Series on Saturday. Her dad continued the feud with the opposing fanbase on social media after the fact.

He then deleted those messages on X (formerly Twitter) as his daughter’s account of what transpired was proven false.

Pannell accused Tennessee head coach Karen Weekly of taking a swipe following a game between the Vols and Red Raiders.

Texas Tech lost the matchup in extra innings, 2-1. Weekly allegedly told Pannell that she’d “made a mistake” in transferring from Knoxville to Lubbock.

Weekly denied the claim.

Taylor Pannell’s dad took to social media.

He hit ‘post’ on a number of tweets criticizing both Weekly and the Tennessee fanbase. He then deleted those messages as new evidence came to light.

Softball on SI nabbed the screenshots before they were taken down. In one post, Brandon Pannell went after the head coach, tagging Weekly directly.

@KarenWeekly was right that my kid did make a mistake and that was to play for her…

He then ragebaited Vol Nation with a series of antagonizing messages.

It is not the first time Pannell’s trolled Tennessee. He targeted the Vols after his daughter’s transfer this past offseason.

Taylor Pannell was Tennessee’s top hitter last year. She left the program after the 2025 season to join Texas Tech. Brandon Pannell confirmed that NIL played a major role.

It’s time for me to move on, it’s been a good ride and now it’s time to count all the money my kid got.

Pannell continued his feud this week. He quickly deleted his most recent messages in the hours that followed Texas Tech’s loss to Tennessee. Erasing the tweets did not make him look any less foolish.

Karen Weekly was proven right.

The Vols coach denied ridiculing Taylor Pannell in the postgame handshake line. “I said ‘good game,’ just like I say to every player,” she claimed.

ESPN broke down the spat on the air. Video appeared to prove Weekly right.

Pannell heard someone say something from the field. That someone was not her former coach. Karen Weekly’s account of what transpired appears to be correct.

That revelation only makes paints a more negative picture of Taylor Pannell and her dad. They were salty about the loss. They aimed their frustrations in the wrong direction.

With the win, Tennessee moves a step closer to the championship series. The loss puts the Red Raiders one game away from elimination.
