Taylor Swift attended the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Chicago Bears on Sunday and the internet crumbled around her. Many Swifties were introduced to the football for the first time and watched their first-ever NFL game just to get a glimpse of the international superstar as she cheered on her rumored boyfriend, Travis Kelce.

They struggled to grasp the sport or how it works, which created a hilarious push to try and learn.

The whole saga, which may or may not be a PR move, has been dominating headlines over the last few months.

It started when Kelce shot his shot at a Swift concert back in July. It was rejected at the time.

However, with polite persistence and a crafty pickup line, Kelce worked his way back into the mix. Rumors that ‘Swelce’ might be a thing started to pick up over the last few weeks and Travis’ brother Jason all-but confirmed it to be true last week.

And then it happened for real!

The news broke on Sunday afternoon that Swift would be at Arrowhead Stadium, which is an absolute gold mine for the NFL. It sent social media in to a frenzy of unprecedented proportions.

Swift sat next to her rumored beau’s mother in a suite. She went bonkers when Kelce scored a touchdown and even helped to clean up after the game, which is a classic move while meeting the parents.

Perhaps the most wholesome moment of the afternoon was when Kelce was introduced. Swift was blushing hard.

Kelce and Swift ultimately left Arrowhead Stadium together. They later had dinner and picked up the tab for a few stragglers in the restaurant. It was quite the day!

Taylor Swift fans were very, very confused.

It is safe to assume that most Swifties are not overly familiar with the ins and outs of football. There are exceptions to every rule, but most Taylor Swift-obsessed fans are not allowing Scott Hanson to lead them through seven hours of commercial free football. Especially those who freaked out over an image of Swift eating a chicken nugget with ranch and ketchup. They’re not consuming football, college or professional, on a regular basis.

Thus, Sunday was a crossover event unlike any other.

NFL fans were watching the Chiefs beat up on the Bears. Swift fans were watching Kelce’s every move on the field while hoping to see the camera pan up to their queen in the suite.

In between all of the craziness, some of them tried to learn the game.

It did not go particularly well. There was a lot of confusion.

“10 yards being,” replied @swiftiesd13.

“okay….what’s a down?? is it like dropping the ball?” asked @tessaspeaknow.

“10 yards meaning going ard the field ten times?” wondered @CR00KEDL0VE.

“Question, how/where can I watch football if I don’t have espn or the sports channel LOL,” @noitsbicky wanted to know.

“there are still many words in here that are not in my vocabulary 😅,” said @realfknlegacy.

“thanks bestie but I still don’t understand ♥️,” replied @coreymeaceachern.

“do you throw the ball or run with it??” questioned @Themadwomanisme.

“what’s a field goal,” asked @isaidspeaknowww.

“what is a sack i need help,” responded @good4abrams.

“im reading words but my mind refuses to understand,” said @tayfanwolf13.

“I tried to understand and almost exploded,” replied @chinatownswift.

Swift’s appearance at Arrowhead Stadium is legitimately the biggest story in the United States on Monday morning. It is all anyone is talking about.

The Chiefs play next in New York on Sunday. Swifties have six days to figure out the game!
