Terrell Owens has become the butt of jokes after falling for the exploits of a parody social media account. The former NFL receiver replied to a satirical post without realizing it was done in jest.

Now, fans around the sports world are picking fun at the pass catcher for the exchange. Followers on Twitter have been quick to comment with hilarious reaction.

The post that Owens replied to revolved around the college football national championship game involving TCU and Georgia. A video was shown of Bulldogs signal caller Stetson Bennett tossing an easy touchdown pass to a wide-open receiver.

The short clip then had the comical caption, “How many NFL QBs are making this throw?”

The answer is all of them, but the joke sailed over TO’s head faster than a Jeff Garcia slant pass. Terrell Owens quickly responded to the post with his rebuttal, clearly missing the sarcasm.

“Ummmm what about the throw warrants this question?!!!”

The joke was made as a light jab at Stetson Bennett. While he’s been a Heisman candidate on a national championship team, there are those that doubt potential success in the NFL. They cite size, arm strength, and athleticism as key slights, saying his skills won’t translate to the pros.

Terrell Owens must’ve been unaware of the narrative, and the wide receiver’s now being trolled by his followers on social media.

One fan said, “Look at the name, it’s a parody page… C’mon TO,” while another simply wrote, “LOL.”

T.O. GOT SACKED!!

Owens was just the latest person to be duped by the site, as its long list of victims continues to grow. That list includes both ESPN and Kendrick Perkins, who have been famously fooled on a national stage.

Next time, he might take a look at the account before responding.
