UPDATE: Now a report says he hasn’t retired, so who the hell knows what THE TRUTH is?

It’s the sad end of an era, folks, as it is being reported that Jack Nicholson has retired from acting and the movie business.

“Jack has — without fanfare — retired,” a well-placed Hollywood film insider confirmed to Radar.

“There is a simple reason behind his decision — it’s memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him.

Nicholson won three Academy Awards in his storied acting career: Best Actor for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and As Good as It Gets, and Best Supporting Actor for Terms of Endearment, and was nominated a record 12 times overall.

The good news? He’ll still be court side at Lakers games!
