Carrie Underwood performed at the John Deere Classic on the 4th of July. She did not struggle to sell concert tickets.

The viral video on social media was presented out of context.

In fact, the country music singer probably got paid a decent amount of money for her performance and didn’t have to do any of the work to sell tickets in the first place. The people who tried to take her down on the internet are uninformed.

Carrie Underwood is criticized for singing at President Trump’s inauguration.

The second inauguration of President Donald J. Trump took place on January 20, 2025. The event was moved inside to the United States Capitol Rotunda due to extreme cold in Washington, D.C.

Underwood was one of the scheduled performers. The American Idol winner and multi-platinum recording artist performed a full a cappella rendition of ‘America The Beautiful’ after technical difficulties took away her backtrack.

She released the following statement at the time:

“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event. I am humbled to answer the call at at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”

Ever since that day, Carrie Underwood has been branded as ‘MAGA’ for supporting the 45th and 47th president of the United States. She is frequently criticized for her perceived political beliefs and villainized for accepting the invitation to perform.

That was even true on the 4th of July weekend when haters jumped all over a post of American flags near her house in Tennessee. Check out the comment section:

Not too long thereafter, a video from the actual 4th of July went viral on social media. It showed Underwood performing to what appeared to be a small crowd on a golf course.

The video was used against her with two separate captions.

“Carrie Underwood, who has sold out huge stadiums, performed at the John Deere classic on July 4th. It’s just too perfect. Everything Trump touches turns to 💩,” wrote @the_liberal_aggregator on Instagram.

“Carrie Underwood used to sell out huge arenas. Ever since she’s been tainted with the Trump stench, she’s been playing to crowds of dozens,” wrote @NotHoodlum on X.

However, the video does not present the full story. This was not just another concert for which Underwood struggled to sell tickets.

She performed at the John Deere Classic.

Carrie Underwood ended her sold-out residency in Las Vegas after four years in April 2025 and has not toured since. She has headlined multiple music festivals across the United States but she has not played an individual concert for only herself.

This latest event was the first in a long time. But again, there is a caveat.

Underwood agreed to play at the John Deere Classic on the 4th of July as part of ‘Concerts on the Course.’ Every person with a ticket to the golf tournament was allowed to stick around for a free concert. Old Dominion played on the 5th. I would imagine the gig paid pretty well and it did not require a lot of effort, comparatively speaking.

With that in mind, the crowd was actually much bigger than the video used against Underwood suggested. And that was after a weather delay likely sent some of the expected patrons home.

The 43-year-old country music singer shared her own video from the event to debunk all of the viral claims.

It looks like she had a blast performing at the John Deere Classic and probably made a good chunk of money doing it. The haters are furious.
