Last week, New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara and three other men were shockingly charged with felony battery after an alleged assault while in Las Vegas for the NFL Pro Bowl.

Kamara allegedly beat another man at Drai’s Nightclub, leaving him with an orbital fracture. Security video showed Kamara punching the man repeatedly. The footage also reportedly showed associates of Kamara stomping on the man while he was on the floor, causing him to lose consciousness.

The 26-year-old running back, who was arrested on Feb. 6, now faces up to five years in prison and a mandatory $10,000 fine. He is due to appear in court on March 8th. He could also be suspended numerous games by the NFL for violating the league’s personal conduct policy.

“Alvin Kamara has gained a well-deserved reputation for being a hard-working and community-minded individual,” Kamara’s attorney Drew Findling said in a statement after his arrest. “The recent Las Vegas allegations are not consistent with who Mr. Kamara has shown himself to be in both his public and private life. Therefore, we are conducting our own investigation into all of the circumstances and individuals associated with this matter to determine both the facts and motivations of all involved.”

Two of the other men who were allegedly involved, Darrin Young and Percy Harris, turned themselves in to Clark County Police on Monday, Feb. 14, and were charged with felony battery resulting in substantial bodily harm and conspiracy to commit battery.

Chiefs player Chris Lammons was arrest on Thursday after turning himself in to police

The fourth man, Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Chris Lammons, had a warrant out for his arrest until he turned himself in to police on Thursday. He was charged with the same offenses as the other men.

The 26-year-old Lammons posted bail and like the three other men will have his first court appearance on March 8.

“It appears to be an unplanned and spontaneous altercation based on my review of the reports,” said Lammons’ attorney Ross Goodman.

Interestingly, it was reported that the NFL was actually aware that Kamara was a suspect in the incident before playing in the Pro Bowl. For some reason, both the league and local law enforcement still allowed him to play in the game.

Security footage showed that the victim had been punched several times and stomped on a total of 23 times during the attack.

NOLA.com reported that in an interview with police, Kamara said the victim called one of his friends ugly.
