After giving birth to her daughter Daisy Dove Bloom in 2020, Katy Perry hasn’t been nearly as high profile as she was back in her Super Bowl halftime show and American Idol days.

Understandable to be sure. Anyone who has had to care for a child under the age of two knows that it is real work.

Which is why Perry began a residency named Play at Resorts World Las Vegas in December of 2021. She can still make big bank without having to tour, performing concerts all over the world.

Or at least that’s what she wants everyone to think she is doing. But is she? Really?

During a recent performance at her Las Vegas Play residency Perry appeared to have a bit of a glitch.

As she was standing on stage, her right eye seemed to take on a (artificial intelligence?) mind of its own, repeatedly closing despite the singer’s best efforts to keep it open.

Four different times Perry reached up with her right hand and touched the side of her head on the temple.

Perhaps that’s where the reset button is for her eye functions?

At least that’s the gist of the comical conspiracy theories now being floated on social media. (Hey, it wouldn’t be the first time. See James, LeBron; Black, Kodak; Swift, Taylor; Cyrus, Miley; and perhaps most famously, Lavigne, Avril.)

Fans are going wild with conspiracy theories after Katy Perry appears to “glitch” during a concert

“Mechanical failure, she even press that button to keep it open,” one TikTok user wrote.

“Her clone was glitching. That’s scary,” one viewer commented.

“It wasn’t the eye thing that was weird it was the fact she acted like it didn’t happen and went on with the show,” commented another.

Maybe those Austin Powers fembots are real? At least she didn’t accidentally start shooting anyone.

“She lost the WiFi connection,” another viewer wrote.

“Software auto updates…loading,” another viewer chimed in.

“The real Katy trying to break free from the MK Ultra,” joked another.

Others thought she might have been communicating in Morse code.

The winner for best comment on Katy Perry’s glitching eye video has to go to the person who wrote, “That baby doll you had as a kid with the eye that kept closing.”

Perhaps we are all already living in a simulation and just don’t know it.

UPDATE: Katy Perry addressed the “glitch.”

“Welcoming all my #flatearthers #spaceisfakers #birdsarentrealers #skyisntbluers to come see my broken doll eye party trick IRL in Vegas next year!” she wrote. “The show’s set list is a fun 🎢 through memory lane going all the way back to 2008, a time when we weren’t all frozen by the paranoia of our own echo chambers! 🤸🏻‍♀️ This show is a nonstop party about finding unconditional love and strangely (for me) not political at all, heck I pour beer out of my tits (that’s a party trick too… I don’t actually lactate hops silly goose!)🍺 Hope to sing along with you in 2023! And we’ll drink, this one’s on me, cause we’re all #chainedtothealgorithm.”
