I’m not a betting man, but if I was, I’d wager that in a previous life Jon Peters ran into a burning building to save a school of young children and a litter of puppies.

The 74-year-old is trending toward a baker’s dozen of ‘death do us parts‘ as he married fifth wife Pamela Anderson (22 years younger) in a private ceremony in Malibu Sunday, Page Six reports.

The two dated briefly 30 years ago when Pam was at the height of her Baywatch fame and Jon Peters looked like the bad guy in every straight-to-VHS action movie.

QUIZ TIME. Point to me where the ideological shift is in this sequnce: Tommy Lee, Kid Rock, Jon Peters.

Like me, you’re probably wondering how a man of his age who vows like suggestions was able to lock down one of the great icons of a modern era.

The answer: he is either Jesus or was tight with Jesus in another life.

Here are 5 scientific facts that prove you can never bet against Jon Peters.

Fact 1: Peters got his start from being Barbara Streisand’s hairdresser and eventual lover.

He went from making her wig for a role to producing the original A Star is Born to running Columbia Pictures. Life comes at you fast.

“She was probably the love of my life. Yeah. She was the most captivating, interesting, creative person I have ever met,” he said of Streisand in 2017. “I owe her. I will always owe her for giving me the life that I’ve had.”

Fact 2: Peters made millions on the Superman franchise for doing absolutely nothing.

Via a 2017 Hollywood Reporter profile:

He says he took home $80 million to $85 million combined for 2006’s Superman Returns and Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel thanks to backend granted for his role in jumpstarting the franchise in the ’90s. Warners declined to comment. “I have 7.5 percent of the gross,” says Peters. “Together they did [more than] a billion.” He adds he was banned from the set of Man of Steel at the behest of producer Christopher Nolan: “My reputation scares these guys.”

Fact 3: Peters survived a ponytail phase.

Via Hollywood Reporter: Sporting a ponytail, silk lounge pants and the kind of bravado that comes with mountains of “f— you” money, Peters is soft-spoken, charming and candid.

Fact 6: This dude really gets away with this shit.

After the marriage to Pamela, Peters told the Hollywood Reporters: “There are beautiful girls everywhere. I could have my pick, but — for 35 years — I’ve only wanted Pamela. She makes me wild — in a good way. She inspires me. I protect her and treat her the way she deserves to be treated.”

I vow now until the end of my days that whatever Jon Peters is having, double up the order.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
