How to make Baked Eggs in Ham Cups

Colin Joliat

Yung Humma and Flynt Flossy have an entire song dedicated to choosing between fried or fertilized eggs, but I prefer mine baked. To still keep things frisky I baked them in ham cups.

It turns out bacon isn’t the only meat worth eating. Were you guys aware that there were others? I know, I’m shocked. I love Bacon Wrapped Eggs as much as the next guy, but it can be somewhat time consuming even if you have that glorious infomercial product. Baked Eggs in Ham Cups, on the other hand, takes figuratively no time at all.

Like many things in life, this is a choose your own adventure. Beyond the ham and eggs, you can add in whatever your like. Cheese is an obvious choice, but you could also go with stuff like mushrooms, cotton canndy, or Rice Whiskey Treats. There’s no one stopping you from making the most ridiculous breakfast ever.

I don’t imagine you needed the single-image step-by-step to making Baked Eggs in Ham Cups, but there it is. My ham was really thin so I used a couple slices to make my mold. Crack in an egg, add some cheese, top with Sriracha Sea Salt, be content.

This doesn’t look as impressive as it did for the Cookie Dough Brownie Cups, but they’re certainly better for you.

The beauty of recipe is that you can also make them all different ways. I used two different cheeses and left one plain. The world is your oyster.

If you had a crazy orgy last night, you can also  cook a Plan-B breakfast for the whole gang in just 15 minutes. That’s much better than making 20 omelets or several a big pans of scrambled eggs. It might actually take a little longer due to a full oven, but that just means you have time for a quick morning throw.

In about 17 minutes I went from contemplating eating tuna right out of the can to having an impressive looking breakfast (it was actually dinner). If you can’t manage to make these for any reason other than not owning a muffin tray, you should probably just board up your kitchen right now. I’ll let GrubHub know you’re coming.
