How to make Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Cup Stuffed Oreos

Colin Joliat

Desserts are rarely manly, unless it’s a glass of Booker’s neat, but if you stack up enough cookies and candy it gets pretty close. That’s exactly what I did in this recipe for Chocolate Dipped Peanut Butter Cup Stuffed Oreos.

Dig out the fall clothes because you’re going to need your Thanksgiving turkey pants. Gluttony only begins to describe the first of three Oreo-based desserts I’m making this week. Why Oreo? Because I love them. No, sadly they’re not sponsoring the Guyism Grill, but their cookies are perfect for easy and absurd creations.

Oh, did you think I was joking when I said this would be easy? You know I don’t kid about simplicity. It only takes three ingredients to make this tower of power, four if you want sprinkles on top (which you do).

Fun fact: Mega Stuf Oreos exist!

Everyone knows you’re supposed to “twist, lick, dunk” an Oreo, but fight the urge because you need cream on both sides of the super stack. You have two whole sleeves of cookies left that you can molest any way you see fit.

I tried the Peanut Butter Cup both upside down and right-side up, but it didn’t seem to make a difference. Just go with what your heart tells you.

Melting chocolate chips is the one part of this process that can be tricky. Why? Because I’m an impatient pastry chef. Apparently it’s not as easy as walking up to a fountain at a wedding.

Two key things to remember: heat the chocolate as slowly as humanly possible and make sure absolutely no water touches it. Fast and wet may be fun for some things, but not liquefying chocolate chips. Seriously, if you have an Easy Bake Oven it would be perfect right now.

You can dip, dunk, or bathe your cookie pillars in the melted chocolate. It’s a little tricky to get an even coating, but as you can see that didn’t bother me at all. Extra chocolate is a bonus not a curse. Once the coating hardens, break of the excess chocolate, use the pieces like throwing stars, then go back to being an adult.

This gourmet recipe came from the appropriately named RecipeBoy, and it turned out perfectly. Sure, you’re about to get the ‘beetus, but Wilford Brimley’s got your back.

Ingredients:

  • 16 Double Stuff Oreos
  • 8 regular-sized Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, unwrapped
  • 1 1/2 cups milk chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon butter

Instructions:

  1. Karate chop each Oreo perfectly in half.
  2. Save cream-less cookies for tomorrow’s recipe.
  3. Stack cream-side up cookie, peanut butter cup, cream-side down cookie.
  4. Lovingly press down.
  5. Melt the chocolate chips with the butter over stupidly low heat until smooth.
  6. Dip sandwich into melted chocolate and cover completely.
  7. Gently shake off the dripping chocolate, and then set it onto waxed paper.
  8. Sprinkles!
  9. Refrigerate until the chocolate is set.
  10. Talk shit to people who don’t have any.
