On Monday morning, the Atlanta Braves announced they are giving ace pitcher Spencer Strider a new $75 million contract. He’s been phenomenal this season and aims to help his team make a deep run in the playoffs. However, all eyes are on his past comments about the New York Mets as it turns out Strider was right all along.

Braves Ace Spencer Strider Called The Mets Bats Going Cold In The Playoffs

So, back in August, New York lit up Strider in a regular season matchup. This was while they were shaping up as a legitimate threat within their division. After that specific game, Spencer Strider shared his thoughts on what happened. According to Justin Toscano, it appears as though the Braves pitcher didn’t think the Mets’ batting would last in the playoffs.

New York fans took offense to Strider’s criticism. Many believed he was simply being sore about losing a regular season game. However, fast-forward to the MLB Playoffs and it turns out Spencer Strider was right. The San Diego Padres closed out the series in Game 3 while only allowing the Mets one hit throughout the entire matchup.

In addition to that, New York failed to score any runs. They got shutout in a must-win game against San Diego, who hasn’t quite lived up to standards this year. The Braves ace has to be feeling great right now. Not only was he right in what he saw from the Mets, but he also signed a $75 million contract to rub in their faces.

Although Spencer Strider was roasted for his take back in August, it turns out the Braves star was right all along. Too bad for the Mets, as they clearly didn’t see this coming.
