Tiger Woods’ quest for his 15th major fell short at the British Open in Carnoustie, Scotland yesterday, but for much of the day it felt like Tiger was going to capture his first W in five years. Woods finished at 5 under par overall, good for sixth in the field–his first top 10 at a major since the 2013 Open.
Woods’ hopes began to diminish after a double bogey on the par-4 11th. At the time, he was leading the field at 7 under. Woods followed that hole up with a bogey on 12. At that point, luck had run out for one of the most recognizable athletes on the planet.
A golf fan named Colin Hauck captured video footage of the exact moment things turned south for Woods. Hauck was on hole 11 on Sunday at Carnoustie when he gets drilled by a stray Tiger approach shot, knocking his phone out of his hand.

A possible broken iPhone is a small price to pay for a signed Tiger Woods glove and a spot in internet folklore forever.
