Three months ago, it appeared that Bronny James may never step foot onto a basketball court for the USC Trojans.

James was rushed to a hospital in late July after suffering a cardiac arrest during a Trojans practice.

It was later revealed that he suffers from a congenital heart defect, but that he was expected to be able to return to the court and press ahead with his basketball career.

“Bronny is doing extremely well,” his father, LeBron James, said at Lakers media day. “He has begun his rehab process to get back on the floor this season with his teammates at USC. The successful surgery that he had […] he’s on the up and up. It’s definitely a whirlwind and a lot of emotions for our family this summer but the best thing we have is each other.”

Not it appears that return date is coming ever closer.

LeBron James told reporters on Monday night that his son is set to have a check up appointment with doctors at the end of November. If all goes to plan, Bronny James will return to practice with USC in hopes of making his college debut later this season.

Bronny James Return Would Make Trojans A Force To Be Reckoned With

Despite James’ absence, USC began the season ranked No. 21 with in the AP Top 25 and with high expectations.

They began the season with an 82-69 victory over Kansas State on Monday night and James’ return would only further their push for a national title.

A 6-foot-4 guard, James was the No. 28-ranked recruit in the country in the class of 2023 according to 247Sports.

“Bronny James is a strong-bodied combo-guard with a well-rounded game,” Adam Finkelstein of 247Sports said of James. “As the eldest son of LeBron James, his every move has been under a magnifying glass since before he played his first high school game. To his credit, that has never stopped him from playing the right way. In fact, Bronny’s best attribute may be his understanding of how to impact the game without dominating the ball or forcing bad shots. He’s unselfish, a more than willing passer, and engaged defender.”

USC coach Andy Enfield has to be over the moon with the possibility of adding James to his already talented roster.
