The San Francisco Giants made headlines this offseason with the addition of Carlos Correa in free agency. Recent reports, however, suggest that there may be some buyer’s remorse.

According to AP News, the club postponed Correa’s introduction to the team due to medical concerns following his physical.

More from the AP report below.

One person confirmed that Tuesday’s conference to welcome Carlos Correa was put on hold because the sides were awaiting the results of testing. A second person said that a medical issue was flagged during Correa’s physical.

The media availability had been scheduled for 11 a.m. PST at Oracle Park, but it was called off about three hours before it was to take place. The Giants did not provide an explanation as to why.

Health concerns have long been an issue for the All-Star shortstop. Correa’s played in more than 150 games just once in his eight-year career while spending time on the IL seven different times.

Now, when on the field, the slugger’s been a force. He’s hit .279 as a pro with 155 homers and 553 RBIs. It’s not often you get a bat like that from a middle infielder. For that reason, San Francisco offered Carlos Correa a massive deal worth $350M over the next 13 years.

But those numbers could be renegotiated should any major issue arise.

This former Rookie of the Year made a name for himself as a World Series champion with the Houston Astros. He played last year with the Twins, and actually had an opportunity to return to the Minnesota for another season before turning down his player option with the club.

Now, he could regret that decision.

Fans were quick to comment on the news via social media. Here’s what they had to say.

One person wrote, “This is buyer’s remorse,” while another asked, “Woah is the deal in jeopardy?”

The Giants’ original offer would provide Carlos Correa with the fourth-largest guaranteed contract in MLB history. There appears to be a big “if” surrounding whether or not that deal will get done.
