Late last week, a ‘Florida Man’ went viral for catching a pretty decent sized alligator with only a trash can. Now he’s taking shots at Ben Simmons.

How do the two correlate, you might be asking? Let him explain.

Eugene Bozzi is a Philadelphia native. It’s unclear if he was visiting Florida or lives there now, but the once ‘Philly Man,’ is a certified ‘Florida Man’ now.

He joined CBS on Monday morning for an exclusive interview and gave a hilarious response about his feat. Simmons was caught in the crossfire.

“I’m not going to be Ben Simmons,” Bozzi said when asked what he was thinking as he tried to capture the gator. “I’m gonna get me this basket.”

His incredible soundbite begins at the 41-second mark below:

Bozzi’s comments comes as Simmons is public enemy No. 1 for 76ers fans. The All-Star guard is holding out of training camp after demanding a trade and will reportedly never play for Philadelphia again.

This saga began to unfold during the playoffs when Simmons was hesitant to shoot throughout a conference semifinal loss and Philly fans burned his jersey in the streets. Since then, he has garnered quite a few headlines, is willing to lose a lot of money not to play for the Sixers, and refused to meet with his former teammates about coming back.

Meanwhile, Bozzi is doing the opposite of Simmons. When he saw the opportunity to score, he took it.

He hopped all over that gator and closed it up. A clutch shooter gets his bucket. Bozzi is a clutch shooter.
