Jason McIntyre of FS1 is eating his words about his preseason projections for the Seattle Seahawks. The NFL analyst will now have to own up to a wager made before the start of the regular season.

McIntyre didn’t have much hope for the Seahawks in 2022, predicting that they’d finish well below .500. And he wasn’t the only talking head expecting Seattle to struggle this year.

The franchise traded away star passer Russell Wilson, leaving Geno Smith to lead the offense. They also got rid of defensive mainstay Bobby Wagner, leading many to anticipate a rebuild in Washington.

Pete Carroll had other plans, though.

They surprised everyone by not only being competitive, but also landing one of the 14 postseason spots. They finished above both Arizona and defending Super Bowl champ Los Angeles in the divisional standings.

Seattle won nine games this year, securing the No. 7 seed in the NFC with a season-ending win over the Rams. Geno Smith led one of the most explosive units in the NFL, while the defense did just enough to win games. After clinching that playoff berth, the Seahawks’ social media team eviscerated their preseason doubters with a video on Twitter.

One person called out in particular was Jason McIntyre, who said he’d shave the Seahawks’ logo onto the side of his head if they finished above .500.

9-8 is just that, and now, it’s time for the NFL analyst to pay up.

He’s agreed to own up to his side of the bet, posting the following message online after being singled out by the social media team.

Will send a SHAVE THE DATE when we’re good to go. Can’t wait!

We’ll be on the lookout for Jason McIntyre’s new haircut, and it should come before Seattle’s wildcard matchup against the 49ers. The Seahawks will look to land their first win over San Francisco in three tries this season, and while there are many with little faith, they’ve proven the doubters wrong before.

So, think before you make any Seattle playoff wagers. You might just end up on the wrong side.
