LA Rams President Kevin Demoff Calls Out Predatory Resale Practices Amid Wildfires

The Los Angeles Rams are set to host their NFC Wildcard round game against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night, but they won’t do so at SoFi Stadium in LA due to the tragic wildfires sweeping through the area. Instead, Los Angeles and Minnesota will play the game at State Farm Stadium in Arizona.

The change in venue meant that all tickets to the game were refunded and new tickets went on sale on Friday afternoon. But the initial ticket prices were through the roof, angering not only fans, but also Rams president Kevin Demoff.

“I can’t stress this enough, no tickets have been purchased,” Demoff tweeted. “Rams STM have first opportunity to buy tickets at face value which will be similar or less than our playoff pricing. Prices are nuts because they are preying on fans which is gross given circumstances.”

Resale tickets on StubHub are going for as much at $500 on StubHub. But Rams season ticket holders were offered the chance to purchase tickets at face value through a direct link.

Demoff and company then worked throughout the day to ensure Rams fans could affordably attend and travel to the game. The organization secured several busses for fans and Demoff used social media to help fans through the ticket-purchasing process. He also helped maintain perspective while doing so.

We are all angry and upset that 9000 homes have been destroyed and many more lives shattered,” Demoff wrote. “We can’t be angry about the game — we can be solution oriented to find best opportunity for our fans and organization to try and win a playoff game.”

Ultimately, everyone is more concerned about the well-being of LA residents. But Demoff and company handled the situation about as well as you could ask for all things considered.
