Penn State Freshman LaVar Arrington II Looks Even More Jacked Than NFL Father As 17-Year-Old

LaVar Arrington II Jr. Penn State Football Jacked Freshman
Penn State Athletics

Lavar Arrington was an absolute monster as a true freshman at Penn State in 1997. His son, Lavar Arrington II, is on track for a very similar college football career at his father’s alma mater.

He arrived to spring practice looking absolutely jacked!

Arrington II rated as a four-star prospect in the college football recruiting Class of 2025 and a top-10 player at his position. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound linebacker chose to play for the Nittany Lions over 13 other scholarships from schools like Tennessee, UCLA and Oregon. It was a huge win for James Franklin to keep the legacy alive.

Not only will Arrington II play for the same program as his father, he will wear the same coveted number. No. 11 is a huge deal in Happy Valley and Arrington Sr. is a big reason why.

The former Chuck Bednarik and Butkus Award Winner was named as a First-Team All-American in 1998 and 1999 and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 1998. He was later drafted into the NFL with the No. 2 overall pick and reached three Pro Bowls with the Washington Commanders.

Even though his junior and senior seasons were what really put him on the map, Lavar Arrington Sr. burst onto the scene as a freshman. His highlight tape is legit!

Lavar Arrington Jr. is on a similar path. Although he can fly off of the edge, he is more than just a speed rusher. He is strong in run support and can take on bigger blockers at the point of attack.

Our first look at Arrington II will make you fear for the rest of the Big Ten. The 17-year-old freshman is already much bigger than his dad was at his age. The last few months on a D-I strength and conditioning program paid off for him in a big way.

His hips are fluid.

His feet are quick.

Penn State already had one LaVar Arrington. It seems like his son could be just as good or better!
