Newly-acquired Buffalo Bills running back Leonard Fournette is used to playing and living in warm weather. And, the cold weather in Buffalo is getting to him.

Fournette posted a hilarious tweet on Thursday, using some colorful language to describe just how frigid it is in Buffalo.

“No lie Buffalo colder than a penguin a– out here lord……,” Fourtnette said.

I have never heard that expression in my life, but he’s not wrong. Buffalo can get really cold. But, unfortunately for Leonard Fournette, it’s not even that cold today in Buffalo. The high was 47 degrees, which is not unseasonably cold whatsoever for Buffalo. And, it’s not even snowing! Buffalo gets a whopping 92 inches of snow on average each year, and is famous for huge snowstorms coming off of nearby Lake Erie.

It’s only going to get colder, too. The average daily high in December and January in Buffalo is just 35 and 31 degrees, respectively. And, trust me, that cold feels a lot different than 47, especially with the wind whipping off the lake.

I can’t blame Fournette for feeling this way, though. He grew up in New Orleans, and played his college ball in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at LSU. Then, he was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars and later played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he won a Super Bowl. The point of all that is to say that Leonard Fournette has always lived in warm-weather climates, so I’m sure Buffalo is a shock to him.

Fournette was signed by Buffalo on Monday to help bolster their running game and provide some veteran leadership as they try to win the city’s first Super Bowl.
