Lou Williams Once Made $15K By Successfully Crushing A Six-Pack Of Beer After Being Challenged By His Teammates

As we learned a couple of months ago, Clippers guard Lou Williams isn’t exactly the most recognizable man in the NBA but the legendary sixth man has had one hell of a ride since he entered the league fresh out of high school in 2005 when he was picked up by the 76ers in the second round of the draft.

His biggest claim to fame may be the fact that he somehow managed to date two women at the same time (as referenced in the Drake track he inspired), and while he may not be a household name, he had enough clout during his time in Philadelphia that he managed to talk a guy out of robbing him at gunpoint before bringing the dude to McDonald’s.

Williams recounted that incident on a podcast earlier this year, and this week, he chatted with Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes on All The Smoke to address a variety of topics—including the time he managed to make a cool $15,000 by crushing some beers on the team bus during his first year in the league.

Williams—who was teammates with Barnes on the 76ers—says he never really got hazed as a rookie but that his fellow players (including Chris Webber and Allen Iverson) issued a challenge to him after they boarded the bus to head back to the team plane that he couldn’t say no to.

All Williams had to do to collect the money was finish a six-pack before they arrived at the airport, and while the teenager wasn’t a drinker at the time, he managed to successfully slug them down (although Webber, Iverson, and Barnes had to covertly carry his predictably drunk ass onto the plane).

If you want to hear the story in full, it starts around the 8:30 mark in the following video.
