A Michigan fan attempted to rush the field after the Wolverines‘ national championship win alongside his son, and it ended as poorly as possible.

Rather than celebrating with the team on the field, the duo was met by authorities.

The father in the situation was quickly detained, caught in a video posted to social media by Outkick’s Trey Wallace.

“This Michigan fan decided to rush the field with his son, which did not end up well,” the caption read. “One of the highest security events and he made a run for it.”

The fan had hoped to savor the moment with an unforgettable experience. Instead, he landed a one-way ticket out of the stadium – with police escort!

In his defense, it was a huge night for the UM program.

The win over Washington helped Michigan win its first national title since 1997 as the Wolverines ended a College Football Playoff curse.

Jim Harbaugh and Co. successfully capped a perfect 15-0 campaign, picking up the program’s first and second CFP wins. The Wolverines entered this postseason with an 0-2 overall record in the tournament having been booted in the first round each of the last two seasons.

Despite a year of controversy, sparked by the Connor Stalions sign stealing scandal, Michigan persevered. Facing adversity, the Wolverines went 6-0 without Harbaugh on the sidelines as he dealt with a pair of suspensions in 2023.

Michigan played villain for most of the year, but in the end, they got the last laugh while lifting that national championship trophy. Unfortunately, not all of the school’s supporters ended the night on that same high.
