The NFL drama continues to unfold as Pittsburgh Steelers’ long-time head coach Mike Tomlin chimed in on the ongoing feud between Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

In a conversation with veteran sports writer Peter King, Tomlin expressed his eagerness to witness the highly anticipated matchup between the Broncos and the Jets during the 2023 NFL season.

King revealed Tomlin’s thoughts during an appearance on the Dan Patrick show on Monday, quoting the Steelers’ coach as saying, “All I know is that I hope that game between the Broncos-Jets is on national TV, in a time where everybody can watch it because I want to watch that football game.”

The conflict between Payton and Rodgers escalated last week when Sean Payton made shocking comments in an interview with USA Today’s Jarrett Bell.

Payton not only took a direct jab at the Jets for acquiring Aaron Rodgers as their new quarterback for the upcoming season, but he also delivered scathing remarks about Nathaniel Hackett, the current Jets’ assistant coach and former head coach of the Broncos in 2022, a position now held by Payton.

Payton’s assessment of Hackett’s coaching performance during the 2022 season was anything but flattering. He stated, “It might have been one of the worst coaching jobs in the history of the NFL. That’s how bad it was.”

In a response to Payton’s comments, Aaron Rodgers passionately defended his coach and urged Payton to refrain from mentioning Hackett’s name in a negative light.

Now, Coach Tomlin’s remarks have brought attention to what seems to be the sentiment shared by many football fans across the nation.

The anticipation for the Broncos-Jets matchup in the fifth week of the 2023 NFL season has intensified, as the game takes on a more significant meaning due to the ongoing verbal exchanges between the head coach and star quarterback.
