Every football fan loves a fake punt.

And every football fan loves a big man runnin’.

But what about a big man runnin’ ON A FAKE PUNT!

The Oregon Ducks combined two of football’s best plays on Saturday when they ran a fake punt for 6-foot-5, 305-pound defensive tackle Casey Rogers.

Rogers, a former lacrosse player who had been committed to lax powerhouse Syracuse, showed off his wheels on the way to a 20-yard gain for the first down.

Oregon went on to score a touchdown on the drive and push its lead to 20-0 over Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes.

No way Oregon just ran a fake punt from inside their own 20 with Casey Rogers and got it,” one fan on Twitter said of the play.

“Imagine not being a fan of the school that runs a fake punt to the big man on a 3rd and LONG deep in your own territory to establish DOMINANCE. ‘Sco DUCKS,” said another.

Colorado entered the game 3-0. But it’s the Ducks who were massive 21-point favorites, thanks in part due to a liver injury to Buffs star Travis Hunter that will keep him out several weeks.

Unfortunately, seemingly lopsided result was one that many saw coming.

I think Oregon is going to boat race them,” remarked an opposing assistant coach. “Oregon is different upfront. There’s a lot of bark, not much bite to Colorado. When they run into the bigger dogs in the Pac-12, it’s going to come to an end.”

While Sanders and co. are off to an impressive start to the season, the Ducks always felt like a big hill to climb.

Maybe the Buffaloes can get things turned around. But things certainly aren’t trending in their direction at Autzen Stadium. And the vibes for Oregon are downright immaculate after letting the big man rumble for the first down.
