Paddy Pimblett quickly became a fan favorite within the UFC and is rising the ranks in the lightweight division.

However, since his last fight ended in controversy, things have kind of slowed down for the English star. Now, he’s catching some heat over his latest comments.

According to MMA Junkie, Paddy Pimblett made the claim that he, “should be paid to do interviews.” Not many people are for that opinion. Especially UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping. In fact, those comments bothered Bisping enough that he offered Pimblett some advice.

During a recording of his Believe You Me podcast, Bisping advised the rising star to humble himself. After that, the Hall of Famer explains why that’s the case. “I think what Paddy needs to do is just humble himself a little bit. Stop with this ‘I’m the new cash cow’ shit. When I asked him who would he want to fight next, ‘I don’t need to say anyone’s name because I am the man. I’m the boy, I’m the cash cow.’ And you’re yet to fight someone ranked.”

After that, Michael Bisping continued to make his point, per MMA Junkie. “Nobody in the top 10, certainly in the top five, needs Paddy to give them a rub. Dustin Poirier, Islam Makhachev, Charles Oliveira, these are household names in mixed martial arts. They don’t need Paddy to say their name to get a few Instagram followers. The whole ‘pay me for interviews’ thing, I think that left a bad taste in people’s mouths. Again, I’m not hating. I’m just being honest in what I saw.”

In the end, if Paddy Pimblett can earn a big win in his next bout, preferably a dominating one, then all will be forgotten. Michael Bisping explains that by stating, “The sport forgives fast and quickly. All he’s got to do is go out there, beat someone, and that’s it. It’s all forgotten about. Go out there, smoke someone, be cool and be funny, and all the rest of it and everyone forgets. This sport is about what have you done for me lately. You’re only as good as your last fight.”

With that said, we should expect to see Paddy Pimblett in the cage more than once in 2023. Based on how quickly he’s rising the ranks, we should hopefully see Pimblett face a ranked opponent soon.
