Last week, EA Sports unveiled the full list of ratings for players as well as teams as we gear up for the release of the upcoming Madden 20, a game that probably won’t really be much different than it’s past few iterations (despite some attempts at realism) but which people will still buy the shit out of to get their football fix.

Only four players were bestowed with a perfect rating of 99, which led to a number of NFLers bitching and moaning about their scores, ranging from Antonio Brown to a couple of others who announced they were boycotting the game in protest and encouraged others to do the same.

However, there’s at least one player who doesn’t have much to complain about: Patrick Mahomes, who managed to land a spot on the cover and was gifted with a rating of 97, making him the most dominant quarterback in the game.

Mahomes experienced a meteoric ratings rise last year, as he started the season with a 77 before skyrocketing to 94 by the end of the year as he made the league his bitch thanks to his insane scrambling prowess and the ability to complete some absolutely absurd throws on the run.

Now, it looks like he’s going to be a living hell to play against based on a few gameplay videos showcasing his absolutely insane moves on the field.

The guy who posted the videos says Mahomes might be the most formidable player in the history of the Madden franchise but I’d be very surprised if he’d be able to top ’04 Michael Vick, whose skills were the stuff of legend.

With that said, I think the Chiefs might be my new team of choice this year.
