Rob Gronkowski Is Reportedly Still Following Tom Brady’s Infamously Weird Diet Which Doesn’t Sound Very ‘Retired’ To Me

There was a ton of speculation about what Rob Gronkowski would decide to do with his life when his contract with the Patriots expired at the end of the most recent NFL season, and after helping the team take home another Super Bowl, the legendary tight end ultimately decided to go out on top.

Gronk’s announcement kicked off a brand new round of speculation as some people pondered what he’d decide to do with his newfound time off and others continued to hold out hope that his retirement is a temporary one despite his insistence that it’s indeed permanent (even if some of his comments indicate otherwise).

It didn’t take long for Gronk to become almost unrecognizable after he decided to shed a noticeable amount of weight, and based on the amount of muscle he’d have to put back on if he wanted to get into playing shape, I’d personally be shocked to see him back on the field at any point in the near future.

With that said, Gronkowski has continued to work out with Tom Brady in the offseason and it appears that’s not the only way the quarterback continues to influence his ex-teammate, as The New York Post reports the former Patriot seems to still be following the quarterback’s infamously bizarre diet despite being at a point in life where he’d be fully justified in pretending calories don’t exist.

The outlet cites sources who saw Gronk chilling in Montauk with Camille Kostek over the weekend, where he supposedly subsisted on water and avocados during his getaway, which doesn’t exactly scream “retired” to me.

Look, I’m not going to suggest you should go out and place a bet about Rob Gronkowski’s future based on what an anonymous source has to say about his affinity for avocados. You probably have a problem if you feel the urge to do that.

With that said, I have a hard time believing that anyone—especially a 30-year-old recent retiree without a care in the world—would subscribe to the TB12 diet without a motivating factor that doesn’t involve losing a fantasy football bet.

Is Gronkowski going to come back? I don’t know.

Does the dude maybe just really, really love avocados? Possibly.

Is this story the definition of Peak Offseason? Absolutely. But it’s the little things in life that keep us going.
