Legendary WWE superstar John Cena has less than seven months until he wrestles the final match of his career. But rather than fans enjoying his retirement tour, they’re lamenting how disappointing it has been to this point, in large part due to the presence of rapper Travis Scott.

Scott first made his presence known at the WWE Elimination Chamber show in March when he joined Cena and The Rock to attack then WWE champion Cody Rhodes. The storyline attack left Rhodes with an actual busted ear drum after a punch gone wrong.

Scott then reappeared at Wrestlelmania 41 in Las Vegas when he helped Cena win his record 17th championship by distracting Rhodes. The storyline was widely panned at the time and fans worried that Scott was taking too much attention away from the actual wrestlers.

Wrestling Fans Are Fed Up With Travis Scott Showing Up On WWE Shows

Those fears were validated on Thursday with reports that Scott could step into the ring at WWE’s Money in the Bank show in July. One report stated that Cena and Scott could team with Logan Paul to take on Rhodes and teammates Jimmy and Jey Uso.  The latest report seemed to drive wrestling fans to their breaking points.

I was so stupid to get excited about this retirement tour,” popular wrestling X account @WrestlingHumble posted. “It’s half focused on what Travis Scott is doing. I would have had no problem if his involvement was a mid card thing where it elevates a mid card guy and gets his name out there with ‘viral and aura moments.’

“But his constant involvement with the biggest story in the company drags down the names associated with it. For the sake of “bringing in new fans”, you’re making your existing audience nauseous with the things you’re doing.”

Those sentiments were echoed by an overwhelming majority of fans on social media.

Travis Scott has not added any entertainment value to WWE since he showed up. This is one of the most forced celebrity additions in a while,” one fan wrote.

Why do they insist on booking Travis Scott? He has no charisma, doesn’t have a character, and nobody that watches WWE cares about him in that ring,” said another.

Ultimately, Scott is a big enough star that WWE is never going to turn him away. But the company does have to wonder if it might risk driving away its most devoted fans.
