Godzilla And Kong Continue To Slap Each Other Silly In Latest Trailer For Upcoming Film

Warner Bros.

After last year had a complete lack of blockbuster entertainment content (other than The Mandalorian, which we love very much, bless you Saint Pedro), 2021 is off to an absolute flyer of a start, as the release of WandaVision is set to directly lead into an action-packed March that’ll feature the release of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+, and Zack Snyder’s Justice League and Godzilla vs. Kong on HBO Max.

Over the weekend, both The Snyder Cut and Godzilla vs. Kong released new trailers, but by my count, only one of them featured a gorilla the size of the Chrysler Building unleashing a Mike Tyson-level right-cross, so suck on that one, Darkseid.

Honestly, I’m half expecting Kong to do the Henry Cavill Fist-Reload thing from Mission: Impossible – Fallout. Maybe Godzilla vs. Kong actually takes place in the DCEU. Who honestly even knows (cares) at this point? $100 bucks says the real villain of Godzilla vs. Kong isn’t Mechagodzilla, it’s actually Henry Cavill’s CGI Mouth in 2017’s Justice League. Perhaps for the sake of inter-franchise-connectivity, Kong, Zilly G, and the Justice League must all team-up to defeat Henry Cavill’s CGI Mouth, which for whatever reason now has a mind of its own and his grown into the size of a mountain. Now that’d be a truly terrifying enemy.

Godzilla vs. Kong hits theaters and HBO Max in the United States on Friday, March 31. The film features an ensemble cast, starring Kyle Chandler and Millie Bobby Brown (who are reprising their roles from Godzilla: King of the Monsters), Alexander Skarsgård, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, and Demián Bichir.
