It seems that everyone these days wants to create a hypercar. It’s the sort of thing that happens when companies like Bugatti announce they are going to produce a new limited edition $5.8 million hypercar even more hardcore than their already ultra-hardcore Chiron.
The list of companies that are taking aim at the mystical 300 mph hypercar barrier seems to be growing everyday and already includes the likes of Hennessey, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari, Porsche, Aston Martin, W Motors, SCG, Pininfarina and Zenvo.
Heck, we’ve even seen an outlandish claim from Devel Motors that their jet fighter-inspired quad-turbo Devel Sixteen hypercar will pack 5,007 horsepower into its 12.3 liter V-16 engine and will supposedly go 320 miles per hour. (Drake owns the first one in North America. No word on whether he’s taken it over 300 yet.)
But hey, that was yesterday’s news in the hypercar world. Now a Bulgarian company called Alieno says they are building an EV hypercar called the Arcanum that will put out 5,221 horsepower and will go 303 miles per hour.
Founded in 2015, Alieno, which is derived from the Italian word “alieno,” which means “alien,” the company is headed by Ahmed Merchev, who according to LinkedIn, has over 15 years of professional experience as a developer and manufacturer of electronic and robotic devices and systems.
“ALIENO ARCANUM is an all-electric hypercar from the future with a brutal technical superiority, which is in the basis of the DNA of the brand ALIENO,” says Merchev. “This our first debut model, expresses clearly the mission of ALIENO to create hypercars with alien technologies from the future into the present. ALIENO ARCANUM does not follow the rules, but it creates new ones, providing an extremely exciting driving experience and enjoyment. By this, it touches not only the senses, but also your soul. Moreover, considering the intelligence of the car achieved through the ALIENO artificial intelligence systems built into it, it is like having at disposal your own alien, being your guide, your guardian and who teaches you how to reach its full potential, while driving it.”
As for the Arcanum, it will be available in four versions, the RP5 with power of 5,221 hp, the RP4 with power of 4,351 hp, the RP3 with power of 3,481 hp and the RP2 with power of 2,610 hp. RP stands for “Raw Power,” while the corresponding number after it (5, 4, 3, 2) shows the approximate power of the version in thousands of horsepower.
Each of these versions will be available in three basic modifications: STR (Street – a car approved for use on public roads), TRC (Track – a car intended for use on a track) and RCE (Race), whose basic dynamic characteristics are the same, but only differ by standards/homologations they meet.
The Alieno Arcanum is driven by a direct drive electric powertrain, realized with from three (in the RP2 version) to up to six (in the RP5 version) electric motors per wheel for a total of 12 (in the RP2 version) to up to 24 electric motors (in the RP5 version).
The battery, composed of graphene cells and super-capacitors, will go up to 1,020 km (634 miles) on a single charge.
And the list of features goes on, and on, and on…
Please let this car be real.
