Totally Sane Looking Couple Arrested For Trying To Sell Their Newborn Baby On Craigslist For $3,000

Three thousand dollars can buy you a lot of things–a used Jet Ski, 175 cases of Natty Ice, one pair of Yeezy’s, just to name a few items. Three G’s can also replace the unbridled joy and fulfillment of raising a child, evidently. At least that was the thinking of a Tennessee couple who is now sitting in two separate jail cells after trying to sell their miracle of life to a stranger on Craigslist.

According to the NY Post, 37-year-old Deanna Lynn Greer and 26-year-old John David Cain were arrested Friday on charges of aggravated child abuse and aggravated child neglect or endangerment after trying to sell their five-month old baby on Craigslist for $3,000.

Greene County Sheriff Pat Hankins says authorities were tipped off  by another couple who stumbled across the ad, presumably not looking for babies.

Hankins said that an undercover officer contacted Greer and Cain and was given the price of the baby. The officer then met up with the couple at a store, where the two parties exchanged goods. The two were then immediately taken into custody.

They are each being held on a $150,000 bond, or in other words, 50,000 babies.
