Pre-Diabetic Girl Weighing Over 200 Lbs. Makes Stunning Transformation, Can Now Plank For Six Minutes

by 2 years ago

28-year-old Shawna Fearn was never what you’d call “skinny.” At her heaviest, the mother of two weighed in at 243 pounds and became pre-diabetic, however unlike many people who gain weight later in life due to inactivity, Shawna says that she was “always on the chubby” side. Having grown up drinking soda and eating other fattening foods, she bounced around the 160 pound range for years until she became pregnant with her first child. Over the course of her pregnancy Shawna gained 50 pounds but was able to lose most of it – that is, until she became pregnant with her second child.

However, when she became pregnant with her second child last year, she wasn’t able to shed the pounds after giving birth.

Shawna had started a new job and taking college courses after having her second child, and she found herself mindlessly eating when she was doing homework or feeling overwhelmed.

She admitted that during this time she spent ’90 per cent’ of her day sitting.(via)

Enlisting the help of a trainer who created a meal plan for her, Shawna threw out “all of the Pop-Tarts, pizza rolls, and frozen boxed food” of her house, instead opting to meal-prep healthy lunches twice a week. Strength training also became a 3x a week staple, and she pushed herself to practice “planking every single day for a year” so that her core would become tighter.

After 365 days of practicing, she went from planking for 20 seconds to holding the challenging pose for six minutes.

… ‘The extra time you need to work out and eat healthy isn’t going to magically appear,’ she explained. ‘You have to make time in order to see change.’

… ‘Over this last year I’ve lost a lot of friends, received a ton of rotten comments, [had] rumors spread on “why” I decided to lose weight, and still I continued on anyway to reach my goal of being healthy,’ she wrote.

‘I will not feed into the “I liked you better before” because to be completely honest, I was faking. So, if you liked that, my apologies,’ she continued. ‘I was sad; I didn’t like who I saw. I was in denial that I was slowly killing myself.

Shawna went on to say that the ‘big smile’ she used to have on her face allowed her to ‘blend in’ so no one would realize how much pain she was in from being overweight.

‘There is nothing anyone can say to me about who I am now that will cause me to return to that person,’ she said. ‘To everyone pushing hard right now to become healthy, don’t stop for anyone.’(via)

Shawna is now only three pounds away from her goal weight of 125 pounds, and you have to admit – her transformation is incredible:

🌌People look at you strange like you "changed" – like you worked that hard to stay the same🌌 This was well said by Jay-z, sure hits home for me. Over this last year Ive lost a lot of friends, recieved a ton of rotten comments, rumors spread on 'why' I decided to lose weight and STILL I continued on anyway.. to reach my goal of being healthy! I will not feed into the "I liked you better before" because to be completely honest I was faking. So, if you liked that.. my apologies. I was sad, I didnt like who I saw, I was in denial that I was slowly killing myself..the big smile on my face that outside people saw was to blend in so nobody would notice how much pain I was in from being overweight. I missed out on so much LIFE because of my weight, many invites I declined because I felt I didnt fit in, school dances in High School, sports growing up that my little heart wanted to play but my body image didnt fit the part, this only got worse after having children young, gestational dietbeties victimized me, swollen feet after stroller walks, guilt that I wasnt a good enough mom bc I couldnt bring them roller skating or on bike rides from lack of stamina and oxygen, I missed field trips bc I was embaressed of my size, fair trips I had to be the parent watching, SO many things I can list that took my quality of life away. So, to say the least…there is NOTHING anyone can say to me about who I am now that will cause me to return to that person! To everyone pushing hard right now to become healthy… DONT STOP FOR ANYONE-GIVE YOURSELF EXACTLY WHAT YOU DESERVE.. LIFE!! DON'T give up; These photos are one year apart..both taken after my daily cardio. Picture on the left I ran for 15mins and was dripping sweat like a waterfall, picture on right was after running 5-7mph for an hr and 10mins barely wet my hair. Progress is determined by how consistent you allow yourself to be. I dont run the farthest, nor fastest .. I commit to ONE hour everyday because thats what I can do Monday, Tuesday and Friday etc. Sometimes I can go longer, sometimes I barely make it, but Ive learned consistency is key to achieving big results. ✔ If you have 2 hrs available Monday but only 30minutes on thursday or saturday- try for 45mins everyday. Keep it as consistent as possible-your body WILL react well and never feel deprived or over worked! If you're wondering how to start or what exactly I do-I would LOVE to share what has worked for me 🙂 Lets connect.. comment "Im ready" or email me 👉👉 ✔ I feel healthy and you deserve this feeling too 👊💪✔💯👌👍✌☝🔥❤ #igfitmoms #fitfam #activemom #moms #fitness #oneyear #115lbslost #100pounds #fatloss #facetoface #fatloss #motivate #fitgirl #weightloss #cardio #energy #results #fitchick #changinglives #build #results #humble #igers #fit #inspire

HOPELESS, BAD HABBITS, AND EXCUSES I sure had it all.. one year later and im HEALTHY, HOPEFUL AND HAVE GOOD HABBITS that will last a lifetime. This can be you too with ✔hardwork✔consistency and ✔will power to keep going. I took one exercise at a time, one meal prepping day at a time NEVER was I overwhelmed or felt there was not time. I made time, showed up and started everyday fresh. I left guilt and excuses in yesterday and made today the best it could be with what i could do THAT day. This is NOT easy everyday and NOT convenient everyday but either was being overweight and in pain everyday. A year ago I promised myself I would do whatever it took to not Trash my closet finding clothes, be out of breath playing with my kids, have sleepless nights from circulation or lack of oxygen, swollen feet, back pain, etc …Im doing it and so can you. DONT QUIT-you will thank yourself. Im sharing my story in hopes of changing ONE persons life like I changed my own.
