Former LSU guard Alexis Morris wasn’t happy with how her old team played (or was coached!) on Monday. Following a loss to Iowa in the Elite Eight, she was heard blasting Kim Mulkey.

Her criticism of Mulkey focused on her defensive approach, seeing Hailey Van Lith unable to stop Iowa star Caitlin Clark during her 41-point outburst.

She wasn’t the only one upset with the gameplan.

A number of LSU supporters ripped their head coach for her lack of adjustment upon seeing Clark light up the scoreboard in the second half. The sharpshooter drained three after three while Tiger defenders simply shrugged in awe.

Rather than trying to switch things up with the defensive assignment, Mulkey continued to pair HVL with the Clark on the outside. It failed miserably.

Alexis Morris, who played for Kim Mulkey last season, was quick to question that approach.

She posted a video on Instagram Live blasting both the coach.

“I’m gonna give y’all my unbiased opinion,” she began. “We should’ve made a defensive adjustment. Somebody else should’ve guarded Caitlin Clark!

“[HVL] was on skates all night. I mean, Heelys. Y’all remember the Heelys?”

Van Lith addressed her inability to slow Clark down after the game, saying, “Caitlin is very skilled, she’s a great player.”

Some obviously weren’t satisfied with that response, and they wanted to see more done on the defensive side of the ball.

This isn’t Alexis Morris’s first criticism of her former team.

Earlier in the year, she went off on the squad for a lack of team leadership following a loss to SEC champion South Carolina.

“You see what I did to South Carolina last year by myself,” she said after that loss. “My team wasn’t ready; I can say it now. I played against South Carolina last year by myself. My team was scared…

“You’ve got to have a leader on the court. We don’t have a leader on the court.”

Morris shared the concerns of many around the program on Monday, now seeing the LSU season come to an end. The Tigers’ national championship defense is officially over, and a new college basketball team will soon hoist the trophy.
