For those that didn’t quite catch on, the headline here is a sarcastic one.

To catch everyone up on Andre Iguodala’s current situation, the former NBA Finals MVP was dealt to the Memphis Grizzlies on July 7, 2019, along with a protected first-round pick, as part of the sign-and-trade deal that brought D’Angelo Russell to Golden State. The thing is, Iguodala hasn’t suited up for the Grizzlies once this season, he wasn’t even a part of the team’s media day prior to the start of the new campaign.

The wildest part about the entire situation is that he’s making over $17 million this season to essentially work out everyday. You may be asking yourself, well how the hell did this happen? All we really know is that Iguodala and the Grizzlies put together an ‘arrangement’ where he can work out at the location of his choosing while Memphis looks for a team to deal him to.

Now that you have the run-down, the fact he said the most obvious thing imaginable about the situation should be that much funnier. No kidding it’s likely ‘added more years’ to your career, my guy, you’re a soon to be 36-year-old getting paid $17 million a year to keep up your craft, and that’s literally it.

The last game this man played in was Game 6 of last year’s NBA Finals, which was 226 days ago.

What’s interesting now is that Memphis has surprised most people this season currently holding the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference standings. Ja Morant, Jarren Jackson Jr. and Dillon Brooks make up a really fun core in Memphis and maybe their surprise first-half of the season could have Iguodala perhaps thinking about suiting up for the Grizz.

Then again, this the same man that recently said money is overrated and wished he lived in a one-bedroom apartment, so the guy is a wild card, for sure.

With the NBA trade deadline approaching on Feb. 6 he’ll likely soon be on a new team and maybe even put on that team’s jersey.
