LSU Baseball Fan Gives Hilarious Interview And Shows Off Gnarly Injury After Getting Drilled In The Head By 109 MPH Home Run

You need to keep your head on a swivel when you attend a baseball game, but one LSU fan who thought he was prepared for a home run ball that headed his way learned that was not the case the hard way before giving a fantastic interview where he showed off the battle scar he inadvertently earned.

In 2023, the LSU Tigers headed to Omaha for the College World Series and ultimately walked away with a title by beating Florida in the championship game. They punched their ticket to that contest with an extra-innings win over top-ranked Wake Forest courtesy of Tommy White, the third baseman who hit a walk-off home run in the semifinal.

White went deep on 24 occasions last season and has picked up where he left off during a 2024 campaign where he’s hit 14 dingers in the 42 games LSU has played so far—none of which left a more literal mark than the one he recorded when the Tigers faced off against Nicholls on Tuesday.

White was responsible for two of the five home runs LSU hit during that contest, which included the three-run bomb that traveled 109 MPH off of the bat and extended his team’s lead to 9-0 in the bottom of the eight.

The laser made a beeline for the bleachers in left field, and while an LSU fan named Cory attempted to snag it with his glove, he pulled a Jose Canseco when it bounced off of his head and ricocheted out of the stadium.

We were subsequently treated to (at least to the best of my knowledge) the best interview to come out of the college baseball season so far, as Cory showed off the “nice little goose egg” on his forehead while confirming the strike “felt like every bit of a 109 MPH home run.”

He wasn’t able to retrieve the ball that caused the damage, but an LSU player was kind enough to toss him one they were throwing around in the outfield and Cory said he plans to have White sign it when the Tigers host Auburn on Friday.
