A Look Back At Tony Romo’s Best And WORST Booth Calls Of 2018 Shows He’s Not Always Right

Tony Romo had the best NFL season of his career and he wasn’t even on the field. He was talked about more throughout the 2018-2019 NFL season than he ever was as a QB for the Dallas Cowboys and it’s because he often predicted the plays before they happened.

Romo was pretty damn good at predicting plays. Someone even reviewed all 46-hours of game footage with him in the booth which totaled 2,599 plays. What they found out is Tony Romo made 72 play predictions throughout the season and he was correct 68% of the time.

The NFL released this clip on their YouTube channel which looks back at Romo’s best moments in the booth by the end of the season. Best and worst. The AFC Championship game was Romo’s ‘Mona Lisa’ where he seemed to predict everything correctly. Here we get to see some of his most memorable play calls and some very obvious whiffs.

I have to say that having Romo in the booth is amazing because it gives you a different perspective of the game but by the end of the season he was also pretty fucking insufferable. You got the sense that everyone was coming up to Tony on the street telling him how great he is in the booth and that really went to his head. The camera would pan to him and he’d look smug as hell.

That’s not a great look for a booth announcer whose job it is to keep the focus on the game, you should never become the story yourself. And that’s exactly what Tony Romo’s done over the past season but it’s also working, for now.
