Artie Lange‘s nose became a national story last December when the stand-up comedian shared photos of his deformed schnoz and even joked about it being a “disaster.” Now Dr. Paul Nassif has offered to fix Artie Lange’s deformed nose on the TV show Botched, but only under one condition.

Dr. Paul Nassif, the Beverly Hills plastic surgeon to celebrities and star of the reality TV show Botched, is offering his services to Artie Lange and his misshapen nose. Dr. Nassif generally works on women who are still trying to look young and has helped celebrities such as Janice Dickinson, Heather Dubrow and Farrah Abraham. Now he wants to help the former Howard Stern sidekick.

Dr. Nassif diagnosed that Artie has a “saddle nose deformity.” The doctor explained how Artie got his flat nose, “Like a boxer would get, when you have a lot of trauma to the septum, like from getting hit or drug abuse, especially cocaine could deteriorate the septum or collapse.” In the past, Artie has said that his deformed nose is from “three decades of drug abuse,” which included destroying his nose by snorting glass and his gambling addiction caused him to get kidnapped and punched in the face, which broke his nose even more so.

But Dr. Nassif said he would only provide his services if Artie got clean from his drug addiction. “When someone comes in that does have a drug problem, you have to make sure that all drugs have stopped for a prolonged period of time, especially cocaine,” Dr. Nassif said. “Because if I go to rebuild that nose and I have to use tissue from the scalp, just like I do on Botched. Because if we fix his nose and you start introducing drugs into the nose again, it will collapse, but this time even worse.”

Dr. Nassif said that he would love to have Artie on Botched once he is sober. “By the way, he’d be a great person who we’d love to help on Botched,” Dr. Nassif. “Once Artie is in the right frame.”

“Artie I hope we can help you here at Botched, I would love to fix your nose,” Dr. Nassif said in a special message to the comedian. “And god-willing that you can get yourself clean and I know it is very hard because it is a disease. Drug addiction is a very difficult thing and I hope you have the support that you need. And when you’re ready we’re here for you.”

Getting sober has always been the mountainous obstacle for Artie. Lange has struggled with drug addiction for decades and it was what got him kicked off the Howard Stern Show. In recent months, Lange has been seen enrolled in his rehabilitation program that has had the comedian working at a gas station and serving community service as a garbage man in New Jersey. Friends said Artie was “doing really well.”

But then last week, Artie Lange was arrested for violating his drug probation. Artie’s mugshot punctuates how much his nose is flattened.

It also shows that maybe isn’t as committed to getting sober as he has let on. In 2017, Artie was arrested for heroin possession. The 51-year-old comedian was given four years probation. Then in December of 2018, Lange tested positive for multiple drugs including cocaine, amphetamine, and benzodiazepines.

Let’s hope Baby Gorilla can get better and then finally get his deformed nose fixed.
