Wow, what a day in the NFL.

We’re nearly a year away from Super Bowl LVII but we’re already seeing some massive deals that will have an effect on the outcome of next season’s big game.

Not only did reigning MVP Aaron Rodgers decide to stay in Green Bay, but one of Rodgers’s suitors also made a move that will make things much more difficult for teams in the AFC.

The Denver Broncos were seemingly dejected after losing out in the Aaron Rodgers sweepstakes, but they’d soon change that tone with the addition of another Super Bowl winning passer.

Russell Wilson is on his way to the Mile High City as part of a blockbuster deal. He, along with a fourth-round draft selection, head to Denver in exchange for Drew Lock, Noah Fant, Shelby Harris, a pair first-round picks, two second-round picks, and a fifth-round pick.

As you can image, the news sent shockwaves around the NFL.

Fans are giddy about the opportunity to see Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and Derek Carr competing in the same division. They’ll now have to face each other at least twice next year alone.

Denver was the only team in the AFC West that didn’t make the playoffs last season. You can bet they’ll make things a bit more difficult for their division foes next time around.

Russell Wilson Addition Causes Broncos’ Super Bowl Odds To Skyrocket

As is the case in today’s world of sports, breaking news is immediately reflected at the sportsbooks.

And the Broncos may have been the biggest winners of all in terms of improving their stock ahead of the 2022 campaign.

Denver’s Super Bowl odds took a massive jump following the trade for Russell Wilson, with a number of books noting the Broncos’ new and improved weapon under center.

Just last week, Denver seemed a longshot to take home an NFL Championship. They boasted odds greater than 40/1.

When the team got involved the Aaron Rodgers discussion, those odds were cut in half.

Unfortunately, they lost out on Rodgers, causing a temporary dip, but with the ensuing news of the Wilson trade, Denver’s Super Bowl odds leapt to 12/1.

Those are the fifth-best odds in the league according to FanDuel, ranking behind only the Chiefs and Bills in the AFC.

On the flip side, Seattle fell from a 40/1 outsider to 100/1 longshots after losing Wilson.

It should be interesting to see how things play out next season with Wilson making the move to the AFC. Denver could find itself holding the Lombardi Trophy for the first time since 2015.
