Draymond Green and Kevin Durant may have been former teammates who won two NBA titles together with the Golden State Warriors, but there’s definitely no love lost between the two All-Stars. We got a first-hand look at that during their final season together on the Dubs — where they butted heads early in the year and then never actually made up — and, again, now that they’re no longer teammates.

The first sign that things weren’t great between KD and Draymond came during a game against the L.A. Clippers in November of 2018, with the two getting in some sort of altercation because Green, not Durant, trying to take a game-winning shot — with Dray never even putting up an attempt. Take a look below at what started the whole Draymond Green-Kevin Durant beef.

From there, things only escalated on the bench, with Durant claiming that Draymond Green called him a “bitch” a few times, and that the Warriors didn’t need him. That was all but the beginning of the end, according to one anonymous player on the team.

Per Yahoo Sports:

Green called Durant a “bitch” multiple times, sources said. In a summarized version, sources said Green shouted, “You’re a bitch and you know you’re a bitch.” The rhetoric, sources said, continued even when Kerr attempted to direct the team’s attention to his whiteboard.

But what ultimately led to Green’s suspension, sources said, was a remark in which he dared Durant to bolt in free agency next summer. Durant has a player option for the 2019-20 season, and the Warriors want their superteam intact for the opening of their new arena, the Chase Center, in San Francisco next season.

Green blurted to Durant something along the lines of, “We don’t need you. We won without you. Leave,” sources said.

Fast-forward to October of 2019, and Kevin Durant addressed some of what happened, and even confirmed that the altercation with Green all the way back in 2018 “definitely” played a role in his decision to flee the Warriors for the Brooklyn Nets during the offseason last summer.

And now, here we are, still talking about all this back-and-forth about something that happened between Draymond Green and Kevin Durant 17 months ago, as Green laid into his former Golden State teammate while appearing as a guest on the All the Smoke podcast.

According to Green, he’s calling bullshit on Durant’s claim that the rift between the two — and the subsequent fallout from it — actually influenced his free agency decision. In fact, Green even said that, had KD really wanted to stay in Golden State, all the superstar would’ve had to do is ask the Dubs’ front office to trade Green; and that the team’s GM, Bob Myers, wouldn’t have held back from doing so. Take a look at the comments from Draymond below.

First off, how petty is the Draymond Green-Kevin Durant beef to begin with? We all know that Durant’s sensitive AF, and has used burner accounts on social media to try and voice his thoughts on stuff, but the fact that Green’s still talking about it only makes this even more absurd. Remember, this all started nearly 1.5 years ago.

Second, how legit is it for Green to respect Durant’s game and superstardom enough to know that, had KD gone to Myers and told him to trade Draymond, it would’ve happened without any hesitation. And the fact that Green then calls out Durant for not doing that — and blaming the reason on him not wanting to be in Golden State — will only make Warriors fans hate the former league MVP even more for bolting.

Finally, how about we just put all this chatter to rest and have these two duke it out in a wrestling match like we all used to do in middle school when another kid flirted with your girlfriend? The insanity about their beef has to stop somehow, and that’s probably the only way for these two drama queens to shut the hell up.
