One of the coolest things that the NFL does each season is allowing a bunch of their coaches and players to be mic’d up by NFL Films on game day.
During the 2021 NFL season numerous mic’d up players gave us some A+ moments, like J.J. Watt, Rob Gronkowski, Jordan Poyer, Ezekiel Elliott, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow.
In the two newly released NFL Films Presents videos, Mic’d Up: Best of Players 2021 and Mic’d Up: Best of Coaches 2021, several other lesser known people (like Titans punter Brett Kern earlier in the year) become stars when they’re mic’d up on the football field.
The usual big names are like Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes and George Kittle are, of course, present in the videos, but others like Cordarelle Patterson and Titans offensive linemen Tayler Lewan and David Quessenberry also show they can be very entertaining as well when the mic is turned on and they are being recorded.
Mic’d up players and coaches gave us some of the best moments of the 2021 NFL season
On the coaching side of things, Andy Reid of the Chiefs, Pete Carroll of the Seahawks, Matt LaFleur of the Packers and John Harbaugh of the Ravens have some great moments that we normally don’t get to see or hear.
As Aaron Rodgers so aptly puts it in one of the clips in the players’ video, “We have 80,000 people here, 15 million at home watching us… how special is that?”
