On Monday, The Sun claimed that a source close to Mike Tyson, 55, told them the former world champion boxer and Jake Paul, 25, were in “advanced talks” to headline a $50 million pay-per-view boxing event in Las Vegas.
According to the report, the source said, “Mike and Jake are on board for an exhibition bout in Las Vegas. A verbal deal has been struck to get it on, but like all forms of sports business, now it’s all about the contracts and money split.”
This, apparently, was a surprise to Mike Tyson who tweeted, “This is new to me. I saw Jake in St. Barths and he never mentioned it.”
On top of that, Jo Mignano, a representative for Mike Tyson, told Forbes, the report of a potential fight with Jake Paul is “totally false.”
There had been rumblings in the past that Tyson might fight Jake’s brother Logan Paul.
Tyson had at one point said that he would box Logan for $100 million.

It was also reported that a deal had been struck and Mike Tyson had agreed to fight Logan Paul in February of this year.
Mignano, however, told Forbes, Tyson “thinks the Paul brothers are great, but isn’t nor will he fight either one of them.”
Boxing fans were skeptical of both the report that Tyson and Paul are going to fight as well as the one that said they aren’t.
Anyone think this “story” came out to gauge interest in a potential fight?

Tyson most recently fought Roy Jones, Jr. in 2020, his first boxing match in 15 years since he quit on his stool after the sixth round against Kevin McBride on June 11, 2005.
Jake Paul, according to Forbes, earned over $40 million in 2021 boxing former MMA fighters Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley.
His brother Logan Paul fought Floyd Mayweather in 2021, a fight which reportedly sold one million pay-per-view buys.
