Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s New Brand Of Tequila Took One Step Closer To Becoming A Reality

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is getting very serious about his own tequila brand. And why shouldn’t he be? Fellow celebrity George Clooney started his own tequila brand and then turned around and sold Casamigos Tequila for a whopping $1 billion to alcohol behemoth Diageo in 2017.

Other celebrities have gone in on starting their own liquor companies. Ryan Reynolds acquired Aviation Gin, Matthew McConaughey has his own line of Texas-inspired Longbranch Whiskey with Wild Turkey Bourbon, Bob Dylan has his own line of whiskeys and bourbons called Heaven’s Door, Wu-Tang Clan have their own brand of vodka, Diddy has Ciroc Vodka, Drake has Virginia Black Whiskey, Connor McGregor has Notorious Irish Whiskey, Channing Tatum has Born and Bred Vodka, Justin Timberlake has Sauza 901 Tequila, Dan Akroyd has Crystal Head Vodka and Kenny Chesney has Blue Chair Bay Rum. Even Elon Musk is supposed to be making his own tequila brand called Teslaquila.

It’s been years in the making and every road has led here. Lots of growing excitement. Mana, passion, positivity, hard work and fun. This ones for you world, let’s have a drink. #tequila #innovation #2019.”

Based on the photo, it appears that Dwayne Johnson’s tequila will be available in silver, reposado and anejo (learn the differences HERE). J.J. Watt commented on all of the bottles of glorious tequila and said, “If you need any help with that next time, just give me a call.”

Johnson did not provide a name for his upcoming spirit, but we know that he attempted to get a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the brand name “Mana.” But it was ultimately rejected for being too similar to other products. How about “The People’s Tequila.”

In previous Instagram posts, The Rock has been very open with his love affair with tequila. Johnson even said he puts tequila in his morning oatmeal because tequila is the breakfast of champions.
