Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s New Brand Of Tequila Took One Step Closer To Becoming A Reality

by 2 years ago

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is getting very serious about his own tequila brand. And why shouldn’t he be? Fellow celebrity George Clooney started his own tequila brand and then turned around and sold Casamigos Tequila for a whopping $1 billion to alcohol behemoth Diageo in 2017.

Other celebrities have gone in on starting their own liquor companies. Ryan Reynolds acquired Aviation Gin, Matthew McConaughey has his own line of Texas-inspired Longbranch Whiskey with Wild Turkey Bourbon, Bob Dylan has his own line of whiskeys and bourbons called Heaven’s Door, Wu-Tang Clan have their own brand of vodka, Diddy has Ciroc Vodka, Drake has Virginia Black Whiskey, Connor McGregor has Notorious Irish Whiskey, Channing Tatum has Born and Bred Vodka, Justin Timberlake has Sauza 901 Tequila, Dan Akroyd has Crystal Head Vodka and Kenny Chesney has Blue Chair Bay Rum. Even Elon Musk is supposed to be making his own tequila brand called Teslaquila.

The Rock gave an update on his blossoming tequila brand on an Instagram post captioned:

“Cheers (again & again;) Spent all weekend taste testing every batch of my new tequila fresh out of our barrels from Mexico. I’m very passionate about my new tequila we’re developing. It’s been years in the making and every road has led here. Lots of growing excitement. Mana, passion, positivity, hard work and fun. This ones for you world, let’s have a drink. #tequila #innovation #2019.”

Based on the photo, it appears that Dwayne Johnson’s tequila will be available in silver, reposado and anejo (learn the differences HERE). J.J. Watt commented on all of the bottles of glorious tequila and said, “If you need any help with that next time, just give me a call.”

Johnson did not provide a name for his upcoming spirit, but we know that he attempted to get a U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the brand name “Mana.” But it was ultimately rejected for being too similar to other products. How about “The People’s Tequila.”

In previous Instagram posts, The Rock has been very open with his love affair with tequila. Johnson even said he puts tequila in his morning oatmeal because tequila is the breakfast of champions.

Personal best 460lbs hip/glute thrusts to warm up before hitting legs. Solid gains in strength and coach @daverienzi and I are always managing lower body past injuries – multiple knee surgeries, quad & adductor tears off pelvis, ruptured surgically repaired Achilles, multiple hernia surgical repairs etc etc. Stronger now and carrying more dense muscle then ever before, but the key is really smart, precise, intense training and diet. And doing my best to always listen to my body. And according to NASA, I’m basically bionic from the waist down. Which always leads to inappropriate jokes whilst I drink my tequila 😉 We trained very hard today. #TodayWasAGoodDay #LegDay #BionicStuff #IronParadise 💪🏾🌴

Que’d up and broke out the best of my tequila and made it a dirty double – this big ol’ birthday wish is for Walt Disney. He exemplified that dreams ain’t just for dreamers and went on to build one of the most trusted brands the world has ever known. Ive had the honor of partnering up with Disney on multiple projects from MOANA to most recently wrapping JUNGLE CRUISE with my ace Emily Blunt, and there’s always that special, one of kind, unique Disney magic that lives deep in my bones. Joy, optimism, imagination and fun. And the absolute one anchoring thing that I appreciate most about Walt’s philosophy is something that I engrained in my DNA years ago, from whether I was wrestling in flea markets in my early 20’s in front of 200 people to delivering movies to a global audience — is your #1 goal is to always send the people home happy. Happy Birthday Walt. This one’s for you… 🥃 🤙🏾 @sevenbucksprod
